The name
SonsofThunder is taken from the nickname Jesus gave James and John in Mark 3:17 — “Boanerges,” Sons of Thunder. The name is kept on this shop as a reminder to keep Christ first in the work.
Independently owned
SonsofThunder Tire and Auto, LLC is an independent Wasilla shop. It is not a chapter, franchise, ministry outreach, club, or branch of any other organization. It is not affiliated with any other person or business using the name “Sons of Thunder.”

The work
The shop exists to provide honest, high-quality service for Alaska roads: tire changeovers, brake repairs, AMSOIL oil changes, chassis lubrication, and other light repair done right the first time.
The gospel the name points to
The name is a reminder of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God incarnate. God the Father declared, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased” (Matthew 3:17, LSB). He is the Word who was with God and was God (John 1:1, LSB).
Humanity has sinned and is separated from a holy God, justly deserving judgment. The Law makes that guilt plain, for “by the works of the Law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for through the Law comes the knowledge of sin” (Romans 3:20, LSB). No amount of sincere effort or religious work can clear it. The Old Covenant required blood sacrifice, for “without shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins” (Hebrews 9:22, LSB).
Jesus fulfilled what sinners could not. He lived a perfect life, died as a substitute for the guilty, and rose from the dead, establishing the New Covenant in His blood. Through repentance and faith in Him as Lord, His righteousness is imputed to the sinner, who is declared righteous and granted eternal life (Romans 3:22-24, LSB). Jesus rose, is alive today, and will return. Salvation is offered to all who turn from sin and submit to Him.
That is why the name is here. The shop is here to serve Wasilla with trustworthy work.
